Day 1: Sutri – Bagnoregio – Viterbo
We will leave Rome and head to Tuscia, with a first stop in Sutri, an ancient medieval borgo halfway between Rome and Viterbo, perched on a tuff rock and characterized by an important Roman amphitheatre carved out of tuff. After lunch, we will discover Civita di Bagnoregio, the ādying townā, built on top of a wedge-shaped tuff hill overlooking the underlying ghostly ravine valley. Last, we will reach Viterbo, provincial capital located in Tuscia, whose historic centre has kept its medieval aspect almost intact that will transport us back in time to the splendours of the āCity of the Popesā.
Meeting point in Roma Termini, transfer to Sutri, entrance and tour of the Roman Amphitheatre, lunch, guided tour of the medieval borgo, transfer to Civita di Bagnoregio, guided tour of the borgo, transfer to Viterbo, guided tour of the historic centre, dinner, and overnight.
Day 2: Subiaco – Castel Pietro Romano – Castel Gandolfo
On our second day of our tour, we will head to Subiaco, an old early-medieval town, overlooked by the majestic Rocca Abbaziale and popular for housing two amazing Benedictine monasteries of Santa Scolastica and San Benedetto, within the natural framework of the Aniene Valley. After lunch, we will move to Castel San Pietro Romano, one of the smallest borgos of Latium, not far away from Rome and rich in medieval findings. It became popular after being the setting for a number of significant movies featuring Vittorio De Sica as the main character. Then, we will reach Castel Gandolfo, borgo of Castelli Romani, popular for being the Popeās summer residence.Ā

Day 3: Castel Gandolfo – Boville Ernica – Pico – Sperlonga
Today, the tour will begin with the visit of the Popeās gardens, to admire the botanical beauties surrounded by Roman traces in a wonderful view over the Albano Lake and the Tyrrhenian Sea. Then, we will move to Boville Ernica, a borgo with a huge wall belt made of bastions, towers, and arches that allows visitors to enjoy a romantic view over Ciociaria. After lunch, we will be transferred to Pico, an enchanting fortified borgo perched among the mountains between Latium and Campania. It looks like an oasis surrounded by greenery. Last, we will visit Sperlonga, a perched borgo on the Latium coast, popular for its amazing sea caves, including the Tiberiusā grotto that the emperor modified and decorated.Ā

Day 4: Castro dei Volsci
On the last day, we will stop at Castro dei Volsci, an ancient borgo of Ciociaria, full of archaeological testimonies, which was the birthplace to the actor Nino Manfredi and the house to āMamma Ciociaraā, a memorial sculpture to celebrate the heroic action of women of Ciociaria during World War II. After lunch, we will relax along the streets of the borgo to soak up its atmosphere and the surrounding view. Then, we will come back to Rome.
