Tour plan, prices, notes
Day 1: Bomarzo – Viterbo
From Rome, we will reach Bomarzo, famous for its Sacred Wood, decorated with many sculpted basalt mythological creatures, gods and monsters, which will capture and amaze visitors in an appalling game of fictional features. Then, we will stop in Viterbo, the capital province of Tuscia, whose medieval historic centre, almost intact, will allow us to admire its picturesque decorated corners and the pergola alleys of the “City of the Popes”.
Meeting point in Roma Termini, transfer to Bomarzo, entry and tour of Bomarzo Sacred Wood, transfer to Viterbo, city guided sightseeing, dinner, and overnight.
Day 2: Bagnaia – Tivoli
Our tour takes us to Bagnaia, near Viterbo, where guests will visit Villa Lante, one of the best examples of Italian Mannerist-style gardens, including sculptures, fountains with water features, and labyrinths. After a short walk through the picturesque borgo, we will head to Tivoli that houses two amazing gardens: Villa D’Este, a great Italian Renaissance garden decorated with fountains, nymphaeum, caves, and music water features; and Villa Gregoriana that provides an enchanting and mythological setting with its woods, caves, tracks, and ancient archaeological findings.
Breakfast, check-out, and transfer to Bagnaia, entry and tour of Villa Lante, guided tour of the borgo, lunch. Transfer to Tivoli, entry and guided tour of Villa D’Este, entry and guided tour of Villa Gregoriana, free tour of Tivoli, dinner, and overnight.
Day 3: Cisterna di Latina
We will move to Cisterna di Latina, that houses one of the world’s most amazing botanical gardens. It’s a natural oasis where guests can admire the lovely blossoming of thousands of plants in a picturesque environment. Then, we will stop at Castel Gandolfo, a borgo of Castelli Romani, popular for being the Pope’s summer residence. Here, visitors will admire the botanical and architectural beauties, and the archaeological findings in an amazing setting surrounded by the Albano Lake and the Tyrrhenian Sea.
Breakfast, check-out, and transfer to Cisterna di Latina. Entry and visit to Giardino di Ninfa, lunch, and free tour of Cisterna; transfer to Castel Gandolfo, entry and guided tour of Giardini delle Ville Pontificie di Castel Gandolfo, free tour of the borgo, dinner, and overnight.
Day 4: Rome
On the last day, this tour will take you back to Rome to visit the majestic Vatican Gardens, a place that the Pope uses to relax and meditate within the walls of the Vatican State. Here, visitors will see many fountains, sculpted figures, and artificial caves, dedicated to the main Christian saints. After lunch break, we will enjoy a relaxing walk along the streets of Rome historic centre to admire the most beautiful and picturesque corners of its ancient buildings.
Breakfast, check-out, and transfer to Rome. Entry and visit to Giardini Vaticani, lunch, guided tour of central Rome with no entry tickets, end of tour.
