Day 1: Ponza
From Rome, we will go to Formia to reach Ponza, the main island of the Pontine archipelago. As soon as we arrive, we will immerse ourselves in the sunset lights among alleys and staircases of houses painted in the typical style and colour of the borgo. Here, guests can experience tastes and views of the main residential area of the island.
Meeting point in Roma Termini. Train to Formia, ferry boat to Ponza. Guided tour of the borgo. Dinner, check-in, and overnight.
Day 2: Ponza
In the early morning, our tour will start from the western coast of the island, where visitors will admire a corner of maquis almost kept intact by men: it features rocks, caves, and inlets, which create a unique sea environment, embellished with ancient Roman traces. After lunch, we will get back to the coast mainland to enjoy a relaxing break in the capital.
Breakfast and check-out, HD guided boat tour of the island (by bus, if boat is not available due to bad weather conditions). Lunch, free time; ferry boat to Formia; train to Rome; dinner, and overnight at the hotel.
Day 3: Tivoli
Not far from Rome, the town of Tivoli is home to a unique archaeological, natural, and historical heritage, which is represented by two evocative settings: the enchanting park commissioned by Pope Gregory XVI in the first half of the 19th century, including fictional features and natural findings, and Villa D’Este, a great Italian Renaissance garden decorated with fountains, nymphaeum, caves, and music water features that will enchant visitors.
Breakfast, check-out, minibus to Tivoli, entry and guided tour of the Villa Gregoriana park; lunch; entry and guided tour of Villa D’Este; transfer to Roma Termini, end of tour.
